This was the year after the Aquarius Festival in the village of Nimbin, a time of "Peace" and "Love" symbolising a freedom of spirit. Mixed designs: paisleys, florals, swirls and bright, vivid colours bordering on psychedelic were "in".
In remembering all of this, the paisley idea came about.
What was I thinking of! .... |
The design on the skirt and the colours used, changed down its length.... featuring bright greens, tans, blue/purples, yellows and oranges. These are reflected in the layout with use of fabric, mesh ribbon, metallic gel pens, stamping and embossing with Opals, Viva Decor pens and Lumiere acrylics.
I may have been carried away a little!! with the doodled swirls and feathering effects... but hey! it's how I remembered the time and I had a real retro blast, doing this page. Hope this brings back some interesting memories for those who were around then.
Thanks for visiting, cheers, Di
